Not as good as the popular street food eateries in Asia, but certainly better than many of its counterparts elsewhere in Paris, Europe, or even America. Long menu. But you will not find refined cuisine here, just satisfying street food at very reasonable prices. Tricotin and it's slightly-older neighbour New Hoa Khoan, are open from 9 am (yes!) to 11 pm. At mealtime, there are usually long lines of Asians (a good sign!), so if you don't like queuing, go for brunch at 11am.

I don't know what I was expecting. I guess since it was the Quartier Asiatique, I was expecting an eclectic mix of authentic food. The customers are also mainly older aging Asian folk. And the people who worked there definitely spoke a lot more than just Mandarin. When I had trouble understanding the accented french of the elderly man who sat us, he asked which language do I speak and proceeded to then speak in perfect Cantonese to me, while then speaking another Southeast Asian language to a coworker.

Food was not great, dim sum (which is made to order at any time of the day) or dinner items. It was definitely a variation of the traditional, but I shouldn't have had high expectations when their menu has Chinese, Laotian, Vietnamese, and Cambodian all at once. Also, asking for hot water refill in your teapot gets you charged for a second tea, which is normally free in NYC, Toronto, and China from my experience.

One of two restaurants initially owned and still run by an 86 year old Chinese Cambodian grandma who runs her kitchen similar to how my grandma runs her's. This place is great. Attentive staff who speak many dialects of Chinese, Khmer, Vietnamese, french, and English. This place is worth the visit if you're homesick and missing good authentic Asian food.

Their menu is extensive and range from cambodian cuisine to Vietnamese to Thai and traditional Chinese dim sum! Quelle surprise! My favorite was the banh canh noodle soup, the 1b. Thick banh canh noodles soaked in rich broth filled with delicious cuts of lean pork, shrimp, and fish cake. Best eaten with their pickled peppers that lay sitting on their lazy Susan of condiments. But beware, these peppers pack a powerful punch!

Roast duck was also quite good. Succulent and best served with white rice to soak up the delicious sauce. Also good is the tri colored dessert. Super tasty and a great way to end a meal.

I really like this place and came back within the hour of my visit just for late night takeout--thats just how good it was!

I've been coming to Tricotin since the late 80's.

I was lucky to stop in no less than THREE times last summer. Their Cambodian noodle soup - especially if you get a pork bone on the side - is still the best I've had in Paris. Hell, their noodle soup is better than my mom's.

Thank goodness my mom doesn't read Yelp.

Find Tricotin in Chinatown (the 13th arrondissement). Credit accepted, cash preferred.

My aunt and uncle were guiding us through Paris and wanted to take us to eat in China town. They have a variety of food from Chinese to Cambodian, to Vietnamese. We ordered dim sum dishes like xiu mai and hak-kao. Pork char siu, pho noodles, and fried rice. All the typical Asian dishes can be found here and they taste great! There was really nothing to complain about here. They understood English and surprisingly teochew (chinese dialect).

Go at the right time because it does get pretty busy here.
